| The surname "Rotella" is fairly common in Italy.
You'll find it in 303 communities - especially in the area around
Gimigliano and in the north-west part of Italy. Click on the map to see

On 12 January, 2002, I met Carmen Filice via telephone. He lives in Toronto, Canada and found this internet set. His family is from Gimigliano and knows many Rotella's! He told me that my clan name is "muzzilli" (pronounced Muuteely in Gimigliano dialect). It means "to pile." Maybe that's why my Grandfather ended up working in the Tomkins Cove Quarry!
