The best times for me are times spent with someone special and close friends. I enjoy entertaining at home. Dinners on the deck, desserts in front of the fire place. While I would like the table to look like something out of Martha Stewart, it's generally much more casual than that.

I enjoy travel and have been to many, many countries - mostly through my position at Lucent Technologies.

  Great design fascinates me. I'd love to take a trip to see Falling Water. I'm learning the art of Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging).

I love to cook and have 100's of cookbooks (especially Japanese, Chinese and Italian!). I bought a grand piano to start taking lessons - although I have had trouble finding the time.

Dogs are wonderful companions and offer unconditional love. I have had two Chows - Sam and Thor. Both were great watchdogs and were very protective. 

Sam, short for Samantha, was a black female. Brian Delphia surprised me with Sam as a present - Christmas 1989. "Her Serene Highness Samantha of Brixton," her registered name, was a bit shy and only let select visitors to the Spa touch her. I eventually had to put her down on 12/21/04 after 15 years by my side. Making that decision was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

Thor was a cinnamon male. Thor was "adopted" here at the Spa in 1999 when his owner was no longer able to provide a home for him. On August 26, 2005, I sent him off to heaven. He had the most amazing personality - stubborn, but loving. He will be missed.

If you look around the Spa, you know I collect 1950's furniture and dinnerware. I enjoy going hunting for those hard to find pieces! I also spend a lot of time working in my Japanese garden. Sitting on the deck, there's a nice view of the pond, pool, and west yard.

 

I have been very active in the Columbus community. I have chaired  AIDSWalk Central Ohio 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. I've been a volunteer in the AIDS community since 1987.

Dinner. The movies. Shopping. Antique hunting. Cooking. Gardening. Community Service. Travel. Day trips. My dogs. These are a few of my favorite things.
